SP-1 integrated a rugged Instant Classroom case for Vodafone Foundation, bringing tablets, teacher equipment, connectivity, local content and power management into 1 deployable digital learning system.
Client
Vodafone Foundation, supporting digital education and connectivity programmes for refugee camps, remote communities and crisis-affected areas.
Objective
Create a rugged, self-contained digital classroom that could be transported, charged and deployed in locations with limited infrastructure.
The system needed to bring tablets, teacher equipment, local educational content, connectivity and power management together in 1 portable case, helping turn an ordinary room into a connected learning environment.
Challenge
Delivering digital education in refugee camps and remote regions requires more than simply providing tablets.
The equipment needed to be protected during transport, simple to set up, easy to charge and capable of operating where mains power and internet access were unreliable. The case also needed to organise multiple pieces of equipment so teachers and support teams could deploy the classroom quickly without complex technical setup.
The system needed to support:
secure storage and transport for classroom equipment
charging for multiple tablets and teacher devices
a teacher laptop for local educational content
projection and audio for group teaching
3G connectivity where network coverage was available
local content access without relying on live internet
single-source charging for the full kit
rugged protection for refugee camp and remote deployments
fast setup by teachers or field teams
Solution
SP-1 integrated the Instant Classroom as a rugged “school in a box” system.
The case was designed to store, protect and charge a complete digital classroom kit, including tablets, a teacher laptop, projector, speaker, connectivity hardware and supporting power equipment. The internal layout kept the equipment organised and protected during transport, while the charging architecture allowed the classroom kit to be powered from a single source.
By combining device storage, charging, local content delivery, projection, audio and connectivity into 1 rugged system, the Instant Classroom could be moved between locations and deployed quickly in challenging environments.
Key features included:
rugged all-in-one digital classroom case
storage and charging for up to 25 tablets
teacher laptop for local educational content
integrated projector and speaker
3G Wi-Fi connectivity where coverage was available
local learning content access without live internet dependency
single-source charging for classroom equipment
internal power management
protected internal equipment layout
designed for refugee camps, remote schools and crisis-affected areas
rapid deployment by teachers and field teams
Outcome
The Instant Classroom gave Vodafone Foundation a practical way to deploy digital education infrastructure in places where conventional classroom technology would be difficult to transport, power or manage.
By consolidating tablets, teacher tools, connectivity, power and protection into 1 rugged case, SP-1 helped create a field-ready digital classroom platform that could support learning in refugee camps and remote communities.
