SP-1 Project

Broadcast Server Case

Client

Sportable Technologies, delivering real-time sports data and broadcast graphics systems.

Objective

Develop a portable, rugged server case capable of running matchday analytics and generating live broadcast overlays, with fully integrated networking for rapid pitch-side deployment.

Challenge

Broadcast workflows require reliable, low-latency data processing and stable connectivity in uncontrolled environments. Existing systems were fragmented, with separate networking, power and compute elements that increased setup time and failure risk. The solution needed to integrate compute and networking into a single unit that could connect to both local devices and stadium infrastructure instantly.

Solution

SP-1 engineered Atlas as a fully integrated server and networking platform, combining mechanical design, power distribution and connectivity into one deployable system.

  • Ruggedised enclosure designed for transport and pitch-side deployment
  • IP54 rating while fully closed and operational
  • Integrated 5G router, Wi-Fi and network switch for flexible connectivity
  • External Cat6 and fibre ports for connection to data logging laptops and stadium networks
  • Internal mounting for networking hardware with shock protection
  • In-case laptop operation for rapid setup and live use
  • Active cooling system enabling operation while closed
  • Internal power distribution with global-ready mains input and protection

Outcome

Delivered a single, rapid-deployment system that replaces multiple standalone components. Setup time reduced to minutes, reliability improved in all weather conditions, and operators can capture data and generate live broadcast overlays consistently in live environments.
